Registering or Updating a payment card on the CYC portal

You need to register a payment card for a pre-authorisation for charge sessions, before you can order and use your RFID card.  You must ensure your payment details are kept up to date while using the Charge Your Car network, or you risk your RFID card or app being declined .

You do this by logging in to your portal here, clicking on "Your Account" and selecting "Payment Card", then “Register Payment Card”.  You will then need to click on the "Proceed to secure authorisation" link to add the new card details.

 

The screen below will appear, where you will need to fill out the details requested and click 'Secure Payment'.

Once registered, a pre-authorisation (a temporary hold of £1 of the available balance on a credit or debit card, that lasts for 5 days) is conducted. The pre-authorisation is not a charge but guarantees to us that the card details we have for you are correct. The pre-authorisation doesn't usually show up on your credit/debit card statement (but may do so as "pending charges") and after the 5 day period, the pre-authorization will expire and the funds will be released by the card issuing bank back to you.

You will receive an email confirming the success of the pre-authorisation of your payment card however, this is not confirmation of an order for an RFID access card.

If your pre-authorised payment card is declined, an adhoc debit of £5 is added to your account, to cover administration and our payment provider's fees. 

If you are adding a new card, due to a failed payment, please email the admin team to let them know, so your RFID card can be unblocked.
