AC - Alternating Current.  This current reverses its direction many times a second.
43kW Tethered AC - This tethered AC connector is used by some EVs, such as Renaults.

APT/ Evolt - Are a manufacturer of charge points.

BMW - Are a manufacturer of electric cars.

CCS/ Combined Charging System - Is the type of DC connector used by some EVs, such as BMWs.Image result for CCS connector

CHAdeMO - Is the type of DC connector used by some EVs, such as Nissans.

ChargemasterAre a manufacturer of charge points.

CPS/ ChargePlace Scotland- ChargePlace Scotland is a national network of electric vehicle charge points available across Scotland.

CYC/ Charge Your Car - Charge Your Car is a network of EV charge points all over the UK.  This includes Energise, GMEV, Source West and ChargePlace Scotland.

DC - Direct Current. An electric current flowing in one direction only.

Elektromotive - Are a manufacturer of charge points.

Energise - is a network of EV charge points in the South East, supported by Charge Your Car.

EV - EV stands for electric vehicle.

GMEV - is a network of EV charge points in Manchester, supported by Charge Your Car.

Mennekes - are a manufacturer of plugs, the IEC 62196-2 type 2 plug and socket used by EVs for on-street charging.

Mitsubishi - Are a manufacturer of electric cars.

Nissan - Are a manufacturer of electric cars.

OCPP - OCPP stands for open charge point protocol.  It is an open protocol between charging stations and a central charge point management system (CPMS).

PHEV - PHEV stands for plug-in hybrid electric vehicle

Polar - is a network of EV charge points.

Range - Range is how far you can drive in your EV.

Rapid charger - A 43kW-50kW charging point with tethered cables.

RFID Card - RFID stands for radio frequency identification.  Your RFID card is a small wallet-sized card, which has your registration and payment details attached, and allows you to access the charge points.

Renault - Are a manufacturer of electric cars.

SiemensAre a manufacturer of charge points.

Source West - is a network of EV charge points in the South West, supported by Charge Your Car.

Tesla - Are a manufacturer of electric cars.

Toyota - Are a manufacturer of electric cars.

Volkswagen - Are a manufacturer of electric cars.
